Bug is the name given to any small creature that is nasty and I don't know its... its a bug. You might be thinking on the word insect. Spiders are not insects. Bugs, at least I think, is a much more subjective meaning. I would call wood lice, insects, mites, spiders, scorpions, centipedes, etc. as bugs.
