Who do you think killed Jack Thompson in Agent Carter Season 2?

I really think it's Michael Carter (brother of Peggy) since he is her only brother but she got a niece (Sharon Carter). Maybe Sharon is Michael Carter's daughter so who do you think??

I think it’s Michael Carter because Sharon is her niece and as far as we know she has no other siblings, and Michael knew she took that job in WW2 and the person only took the file about Peggy.

I agree. He probably stole the file thinking they were going to us it against Peggy. He gave the file to Thompson to track him down and kill him.

They confirmed they were gonna bring him back for Season 3 originally. I guess he could canonically be dead though since Season 3 didn’t happen.

Golden rule of entertainment. We didn't see his death on screen, we didn't see his dead body nor see him buried at a funeral. So it's in the realm of possibility that his death was faked.

I think it was Michael Carter, because they were going to bring him back in Season 3. I also think that the file isn't about Peggy - it's actually about Michael, because the only indication that it could be Peggy is that it says 'M. Carter' and she is called Margaret, but I think they did this deliberately and the M actually stands for Michael. I read somewhere that he would be in Season 3 and they were going to explore his 'nefarious [...] shenanigans", so it makes sense.

(That same article also called the ending an 'assassination attempt', so I think there's still hope for Jack!)

My thoughts on this topic are very complicated so I'm going to try and make it less complicated I guess?

I believe it was Michael Carter. I believe that he faked his death to motivate Peggy into joining the war as someone stated above. Secondly, there is a slight possibility that the name we see on the file is 'Agent M. Carter' now, correct me if I am wrong 'Agent Michael Carter' - I personally think that they used M. Carter as a trick so people think it is Margret 'Peggy' Carter otherwise why not put their full name?

However, in reality, Michael had faked his death, having joined an illicit organization during the war. After Isodyne Energy and the Council of Nine were impeded by the SSR, especially Peggy, Michael attacked SSR agent Jack Thompson, leaving him wounded while stealing a special file on "M. Carter". [1]

His page also states that Sharon Carter is only his Grandaughter.
