A mad man with a good motive..
He died twice in a single movie LOL
He was an example I used in a class discussion on how the ends don't justify the means.
He’s very ambitious
Stupid
I honestly feel like this character is wildly misunderstood.
Ok, HEAR ME OUT.
Everybody has their own way of thinking, right? So did Thanos. He thought the world would be better if they killed everyone, starting on his home planet Titan.
He says what he predicted came to pass. Thanos understood what was happening. He was just offering a solution that came from the darkest part of his mind.
Here is where the misunderstanding turns into psychopath. He let the thinking that he was right consume him. He began to think this way of life was merciful and just.
On some levels, it could be. Ending half of life for a better future. It could be understandable. But then he gets to power hungry. He decides this is what he must do to bring balance to his life again.
But think about it, this could all also be driven by grief. Think, Thanos lived on Titan. He most likely grew up there. He probably had an entire group of family he loved and supported. Maybe even a wife and children. A mother and father.
But when Titan fell, we know there were little to no survivors. Except Thanos and possibly a few others. Based on this, his family, if he had one, would have most likely died. But he had predicted this, and his way of thinking was probably “I predicted this. Nobody listened. Now those who I love are dead. This cannot happen again.”
We have to realize he was just a really REALLY misunderstood and let grief or power drive him to insanity
Sorry if my facts are wrong. Thanks for reading this. :))
^What about the fact that he wanted to erase the entire universe and start a new one?
A very underrated villain:(
Honestly , I partially agree with what you have to say
Sure everyone’s got their own way of thinking..but everyone has their feelings too.
In a way,Thanos was right..he wanted efficiency and comfort for the people but that was impossible since there were TOO many people , Thanos being an emotional-less purple ball sack didn’t really think by his heart here he just used the logic and snap.. well if only the logic had mattered.. Thanos would be the hero in all the movies !! But no, the MCU has several times shown us an emotional link between characters like Valkyrie to Asgard,Loki and Thor, Agents of shield and so much more and since Thanos only used the Logic factor he’s a big big villain
Sure he was seeking for efficient living for half the planet but speak for yourself
Would you rather have all the resources or most of the people you love?
