So because Infinity War is coming up and we just got an awesome trailer released, I am starting to uncover how the movie plays out. So hear me out. **Potential Spoilers** Granted this is all probably wrong, out of order or just too unrealistic.
1. From what we saw, the first stone Thanos gets is the Power Stone. So I'm guessing the first scene in the movie (which was described as displaying Thanos as the biggest villain yet) is Thanos just destroying Xandar and taking the orb. It will be ruthless, it will be awesome.
2. The next stone Thanos will get is the Space Stone. As seen in Ragnarok, Thanos arrives at Thor's ship, so I'm guessing that takes place next in the film. Thanos and the Black Order will kill most of the Asgardians, probably not Valkyrie. Hulk will be blasted through space, landing on Earth, and Thor will be "killed" in battle and floating in space. All that's left is Loki who hands over the Tesseract and attempts to side with him. Thanos the kills Loki.
3. The Guardians of the Galaxy are flying through space when the come across Thor's body and Mantis revives him. Thor meet the Guardians and they both find out about Thanos (with Thor just fighting him and Gamora's connection). They realise his plan and attempt to get the Reality Stone from the Collector (not sure how they know), and Thor leaves with Rocket and Groot to build a new weapon (as well as potentially to retrieve the Soul Stone).
4. Quill, Gamora, Drax and Mantis arrive on Knowhere to find Thanos threatening Collector. The Guardians go to fight Thanos but does not go well (but they survive)
5. Thanos is now heading to Earth (this is where the rest of the Avengers come in)
6. Hulk crash lands in the Sanctum Sanctorum and meets Doc Strange and Wong. Banner warns of Thanos (much like Silver Surfer in "Infinity Gauntlet". They call Stark to come. Meanwhile Peter is on a bus. Suddenly a circle ship arrives with Ebony Maue and Cull Obsidian to collect the Time Stone. An attack occurs and the heroes fight. Meanwhile Peter sees the ship and goes to investigate. He climbs onto it, but begins to fly up (for some reason), causing an alert to go to Stark who goes to help him by giving him his Iron Spider suit. The two along with Doc Strange board the ship where they are attacked by The Black Order where the Stone is taken.
7. Somewhere in Europe, Wanda and Vision (in a human form) are enjoying each other, when Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive attack him for the Mind Stone. They are able to escape with the stone.
8. Wanda, Rhodey, Falcon, Black Widow, Banner and Cap (who has been called in by Stark about the attacks) head to Wakanda to protect Vision with the help of Black Panther. Shuri tries to see if she can take the stone away without killing him.
9. The Guardians arrive on Earth where they meet Iron Man, Spider Man and Doctor Strange. They are informed of Thanos (flashback of Gamora as a child). The group head over to Titan to try to defeat Thanos. They arrive and all the footage of the orange planet happen. Also, Nebula's there.
10. The Black Order attack Wakanda and the battle you see from the trailers happen (Bucky with new arm, Hulk/Hulkbuster, Cap stoping Thanos, that running scene)
11. Thor, Rocket and Groot arrive and craft a new hammer (potentially also find the Soul Stone).
12. The Black Order are able to defeat the army and take the stone (but Shuri is able to keep Vision alive).

13. Everyone returns to the Avengers Facility. Big moment (the scene where it has all the heroes).
14. The rest of the movie plays out (final battle, deaths, Hawkeye?) Sorry couldn't come up with more without being way wrong.
