<p>people have had many theories on where the soul stone is, from heimdall, to dr strange to even mjolnir. everyone was looking for a single being/object for the soul stone to be housed in, when they should have been thinking bigger, much BIGGER. I believe the soul stone is the life force of all asgardians, the very essence of asgards divinity, and the very location of Valhalla! now before you say im crazy let me explain.
</p><p>heimdall was considered a likely candidate for the soul stone because he could see ten trillion souls, but there was somebody who showed much more promise as the wielder of the soul stone, and that was odin. odin enchanted mjolnir with the ability to read souls, he could sense the life forces of frost giants entering his trophy room, he created the destroyer, which is seemingly controlled by the soul of its wielder, the magic odin wields is orange in color and odin changed loki's natural form from frost giant to asgardian.
now you may be thinking, "doesn't this prove odin is the sole wielder of the soul stone?" and to you I say nay! the odin force AKA soul stone's energy flows through all asgardians.
we have seen that heimdall's eyes are orange, this indicates that he is imbued with the power of the soul stone, though to a lesser extant than odin; we see that the power odin wields in his fight with the frost giants, the color of heimdall's eyes, the color of the soul forge and the force field defending asgard are all the same color; infact, almost all the energy in asgard is of the same orange colour. these facts lead me to the conclusion that the soul stone is the odin force, the very life force of asgard. if this is true then that would explain many things about asgard that science cant in the mcu.
</p><p>1. odin sleep. when odin uses his mystic/cosmic power it drains his soul, which is why he enters the odinsleep to recharge it.
</p><p>2.mjolnirs enchantment. odin imbued mjolnir with the soul stone's AKA Odin force's power to read souls.
</p><p>3.asgardians semi-immortality. because the soul stone is the source of all life on asgard they live much longer than mortal's.
</p><p>4. odin's ability to turn thor mortal and loki into a asgardian. because odin is the supreme god of asgard, he can take the soul stones energy out of asgardians, turning them mortal. he can also imbue beings with the soul stones power turning them into asgardians.
</p><p>as you can see the evidence is clearly in favour of my theory.
</p><p>in AOU thor has a vision showing the asgardians presumably dead and heimdall blinded, this is extremely important to my theory. in the comics the soul stone houses a pocket dimension inside of itself, where souls live in a heavenly state, sound familiar? the mcu adapts the gems to fit the story, and because according to my theory the gem will be appearing in thor ragnarok, it is only logical to assume the pocket dimension in the stone will have a Viking spin. I believe the dimension in the stone is Valhalla, heimdall is blind because he cannot see beyond the pocket universe and the asgardians are partying in Viking heaven. according to my theory the soul stone will be the H in thanos.

<p>The Odinforce is the power that Odin possessed from his two brothers combined with his own when they died, I believe? I'm not sure if that's accurate but that's what I've heard.
</p><p>I sort of lean towards the Heimdall theory, not just because of his eye colour and the soul-seeing thing he does, but the fact that there's an orange gem/stone thing in the centre of his armour? Am I the only one who saw that? It doesn't look like an Infinity Stone at first glance, but looking closer, it looks like parts of it is concealed within his armour, or even Heimdall himself (sort of like Tony and his arc reactor). Also, not to mention the time in Age of Ultron when Thor had that vision of him back in Asgard, but Heimdall was blinded and his armour was stripped from him. Apparently that scene was supposed to connect with Ragnarok, and I have to say, if it does, then it would make a great deal of sense for Heimdall to have the gem, and have it taken from him, leaving him in that state.
</p><p>However, the Hel and Hela theory also seems rather likely, since she is the goddess of Death (and possibly the MCU version of Death herself?), and would take souls into her possession. In the comics I believe Thanos' main purpose behind him collecting the Infinity Stones is to woo Hela? So if that's the case with the MCU then Thanos could possibly convince Hela of the powers that he would be able to gain from all the Stones, and rule the universe with her, or whatever (which would be tempting for her to agree too, considering the fact that she's trying to take over Asgard already).
</p><p>I think it's pretty likely that they'll have all the Stones out there before they release Infinity War, just so they don't have to introduce anything else new, since the size of the film is increasing exponentially day by day. Since it can't be in Guardians Vol.2, it would have to be in Ragnarok, or possibly Black Panther, but I feel as though Black Panther would be too invested in exploring the past and history of T'Challa and the other Black Panthers to bring in another Stone. I'm not too sure though, but it has to be either of those two, Adam Warlock isn't a stable theory since Magus is confirmed to appear in Infinity War, and that's the evil version of him, I don't know if they'd bring in Adam too.

<p>The gem on Heimdall's armor is too small to be the Soul Stone. Also, it has been confirmed by Marvel to be an artistic rendering of Heimdall's watch over the Nine Realms. Basically, the gem is that color because his eyes are that color. His eyes are not that color because of the gem. </p><p>There is also the scene from Thor: The Dark World where they say they moved the Aether because the Tesseract was on Asgard and they don't want 2 Infinity Stones that close. </p><p>Given all that, if it does appear in Thor: Ragnarok it seems that Hela will have it. </p><p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I found an interesting Soul Stone theory from the Hollywood Reporter.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">They think that Sam Neill could be playing the Possessor in Thor: Ragnarok.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In the comics, the Possessor owns the Runestaff. The Runestaff is capable of manipulating life forces and contains a pocket dimension. Both of those characteristics are similar to the Soul Stone’s characteristics.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Plus, I noticed that in Guardians of the Galaxy, in the carving of the Cosmic Entities, Eternity appeared to have a staff connected to the Soul Stone.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">But, until he’s confirmed as the Possessor, I still think it could be in Wakanda. </p>
