I cant see that happining

<p>The one we saw in Thor was just a fake created to show how the Infinity Gauntlet would look. The real one on the other hand (heh heh) was stolen by Thanos a LONG time back and gave it to someone (most likely Kang the Conqueror) for safe-keeping until further notice. </p>

<p>That's not unreasonable on the whole, but why would Odin display a fake in a trophy room which otherwise held mostly real items of considerable power, especially if he didn't have the real thing? Had he had it, it'd be plausible for him to display a fake for security, but if he didn't have it, why show a replica at all when the ownership of one without also having the original is no achievement? </p>

<p>The gauntlet in Odin's vault is for the right hand. Thanos takes a gauntlet that is LEFT handed, thus he did not take it from the vault but from another location. </p>

Has anyone considered that maybe the gauntlet in odins treasure room is from a different universe? Its right handed for one and two it wouldnt work outisde of its own universe. Wouldnt have a clue as to how odin got it but it makes sense to me

<p>Maybe it's from a universe where humanoid species' thumbs tend to point outward on a palm-down hand, rather than inward. That way, it's still left-handed, only <i>their</i> left-handed. :D </p>

There is only one universe in the MCU.

Not that I'm particularly invested in the alternate universe origin theory of the glove, but just on general grounds, did the creators say they won't introduce alternate universes (at least to the extent of saying they exist), or is it just that so far they weren't included? </p>
