<p>I know episode 4 hasn't come out yet but they have already put out the synopsis for episode 6, and it involves Ward's family.  </p><p>The synopsis reads that HYDRA thoroughly discredits S.H.I.E.L.D. by having HYDRA agents posing as S.H.I.E.L.D to attack the United Nations.   Now the hunt is on to bring down Coulson and his crew for good, with an "unexpected enemy"  leading the charge.  Ward's sadistic brother, Sen. Christian Ward, is introduced.  In episode 3 Ward tells Skye that his widely respected family has secrets.  Could Sen. Ward be HYDRA'd-up...in bed with the octopus to rise to power, maybe hoping he moves into the White House as the president?  If that happens HYDRA would have a puppet at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.   It had a stooge in the US Senate in the form of Sen. Stern from Iron Man 2 and The Winter Soldier.  Stern may not have been the only representative in its tentacles. </p><p>Or worse...Whitehall finds out that Simmons is still with S.H.I.E.L.D. and he turns her.  He sends her back to Coulson and crew to destroys them from within, just like Ward was sent - but he was unbrainwashed.  Ward is familiar with Whitehall's hypno-recruiting and probably could spot who got the treatment.  He'll probably would recognize Simmons being under the influence (and probably know how to get a person de-programming).  I see him using this as a bargaining chip to get whatever he wants, and you'll see his agenda unfold. </p><p>Thoughts? </p>
