<p>They should make Jane and Thor relationship work and be together. It sucks that it's so forbidden.  </p>

I hope they are together

<p>everybody that saw Dark World knows that at the end Thor tells Odin(ie Loki posing as Odin unbeknownst to Thor)he cant rule Asgard & wants to live on earth. he says its to help protect it, but we all know its also cuz he loves Jane. after the initial credits we see him transported to earth & embracing Jane. that pretty much seals it that they are in fact together. the question is,or SHOULD BE, does sosmething happen in AoU to end their relationship. the only people in a relationship at this point are Stark & Thor(possibly Cap too, if he took Widows advice & hooked up with his neighbor who really does like him). id be surprised if Ultron doesnt use these relationships to his advantage in order to hurt said individuals & the team. i cant wait to see AoU!  </p>

<p>I don't want to start a fight with anyone that likes this relationship but I just can't see it working. Mostly because one is human and the other is, essentially, a god. Thor is going to out live her and as far as we've seen Asgardians do not have a means to extend a person's life or make them Asgardian too. This was the reason Thor and Jane broke up in the comics, that and Jane got tired of the constant conflicts that Thor had to deal with. And let's not forget the most common theme in mythology: affairs. Living for thousands of years most gods end up finding several partners, with the relationships ranging from one night stands to marriage. I doubt Jane would like being another one of those relationships regardless of how long Thor stays with her. </p>

<p>Am I the only one that thinks Thor should break off with Jane and start a relationship with Sif? Human/god relationships almost never work, and if Jane does not become immortal (don't know how that might happen but it's the MCU) she will watch Thor stay young as she grows old. I don't know. Thoughts? </p>

<p>Well, I don't know. The actual Thor/Jane 'ship was barely explored; there was a lot of talking about it and doing stuff because of it, but how much actual character development did the two get as a couple? Near zip, considering the affair's been through three movies (okay, "mentioned only" in Avengers). Honestly, the Tony/Pepper relationship got a lot more development in half the screen time. There was some Thorane (Janor? both sound stupid, I mean Thor and Jane; maybe Fosthor? Thorster? :) ) development in Thor 2, which seemed to end on a positive note. I think there's three narrative directions they can go with it: </p><p>(i) they get together for keeps -- Either they actually get married, or it's just resolved in such a way that the story is closed with them together; this option necessitates addressing the longevity/powers/responsibilities & careers problem. But even if Jane can be granted Asgardian longevity (why not, they can make a rainbow bridge and magic flying hammers, giving a human a 5,000-year lifespan should not be such a big problem), one of them would still have to majorly modify their career plans: Jane would have to study up to do Asgardian science on Asgard, or Thor would have to definitively abdicate his right of succession to stay as the permanent resident protector of Earth. Of course, Jane could also get bitten by a radioactive Spider-Man and get superpowers of her own; that's the comic book solution to any and all problems, right? :) </p><p>(ii) they break up for good -- Well, there's a dozen ways to write this; breaking characters up is not particularly hard, as opposed to plausibly keeping them together (cf. real world, e.g. the concept of entropy: for any situation there are more end-states where two people are separate then where they are together, therefore relationships, per the Second Law of Thermodynamics, take work :) -nonetheless this doesn't mean they're doomed to fail). They could split on irreconcilable differences (got enough of those going on, fo'shizzle), or circumstances could come between them, or a lame contrived reason, you name it. In any case, any well-done version of this would include heartbreak for one or both. </p><p>(iii) defer to next movie -- Not deal with it in AoU, but in a later movie, probably Thor 3. While this is possible, it'd mark the second Avengers movie where the TJ relationship goes nowhere. Also, Thor 3 isn't due out for quite some time yet, constituting a rather long wait for the audience. Whenever they would deal with it, the options would then reduce to (i) and (ii). </p><p>Option (iv), the status quo of an on-again off-again relationship remains indefinitely, i.e. basically nothing gets developed further, is dramatically unsatisfying and would make the writers look lazy, IMO. </p>

<p style="font-weight:normal;">If Thor and Jane aren't going to end up together, then jane never should have been introduced into the thor movie franchise. The entire first movie was them starting a relationship. Then he wines over her for two years, while she avoids dating and waits for him, finally gets back to her, saves the world, they fall in love again, he gives up the throne, wtf could have possbly made them break up????</p> <p style="font-weight:normal;">Marvel will have to give us a reason for their break up in Ragnarok.</p> <p style="font-weight:normal;">Or just before thor goes to fight in the infintiy war he should call her or visit her to say goodbye. If thor dies (which let's face it he probably will) we're gonna need closure on their relationship. </p>

<p>Sorry, already confirmed that they broke up, no reason why yet, but I completley agree, how could you go from moving planets and giving up the throne of asgard to breaking up??? </p>
