Didnt Ronan take the power gem from Thanos? The Mad Titan only asked ronan to acquire it.

<p>Fact is why trust anyone with an infinity stones if you can't afford to take the chance.  Something like an infinity stone would be a mission you would do alone. </p>

Another question without an awnser: How did Loki activated the Tesseract to open a portal from the Chitauri Space?

<p>Well it's said that Thanos will be able to comunicate to earthlings who have the scepter in AoU, so does he have another mind gem?  Thanos has something in his posession that somehow activates the stones. </p>

<p>It is not a stretch of the imagination to see it either way. I think it is the mind gem and just wanted to be reconnected to the cube. Their power is not the same, but very similar. </p><p>I find it funny that the stones/gems give off gamma readings because the Hulk is already powered by gamma radiation. If Loki's goal while in SHIELD captivity was to unleash the Hulk, the scepter could have brought about a transformation without getting him angry, or maybe if it was the mind gem triggering the Hulk-portion of Banner's brain thereby triggering a transformation anyway. </p><p>In any case, the scepter and cube are linked in power readings, each a singularity from the beginning of the universe wanting to rejoin with the rest of the 5 stones, like the One Ring in Tolkien mythology. The only reason they are not drawn together is because they are contained in some sort of cosmic containment unit (a la Infinity War storyline). The scepter holds the mind gem's power in check the same way the tesseract holds the reality gem's power back. The granite block for the aether and the orb worked the same way. </p>

<p>I think it's simpler than that. The Scepter can't be the Mind Gem because it's blue. The Tesseract is also blue. Both the Mind Gem and the Space Gem can't be blue, in movies about magic stones granting flying men godlike powers, that would just be nonsense. </p>

<p>To Galan: Correct, but the Tesseract holds the space gem, not the reality gem. </p><p>To the wikia contributor: Well the containment units are blue, we don't know what color the infinity stone shards are inside the Tesseract and oval on the scepter. If you saw Guardians you will know what I mean. </p>

<p>The colors are not exact. The aether was red so that made people think it was the power gem, but it turned out to be the reality. The power gem, or the orb, was purple in the movies. As a present James Gunn received from Marvel a replica of the orb with a red gem inside. This coincided with the color in the comics but differed from the MCU because purple seemed to go better in GOTG and red was already used for the aether/reality. </p><p>The bottom line appears to be that the colors clearly don't match up, but Marvel doesn't want to repeat any colors, so you do have a valid point. </p>
