<p>The next Marvel movie that's coming out is Guardians of the Galaxy. I've seen the trailers and commercials and, sorry I just can't. A talking raccoon, a tree thing, and the leader Star-Lord looks like a college kid stumbling out of a frat party? It looks like Spaceballs 2.0. Marvel Studios is supposed to work for one connected cinematic universe, but how is this movie based on its previews work in with the serious tone of the Winter Soldiers, the proposed Age of Ultron, and even Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? I think Marvel Studios believes anyone will come see its movies as long as the Marvel label is on it but that's not always a guarantee; cases in point, Daredevil and Elektra. Kevin Feige was co-producer when these two movies tanked. I think Marvel jumped the shark with GofG, so I'm in the "skip it" camp.

</p><p>Besides DC-Fanboys (and Dazzz on screenrant) i had yet to see a negative review. You are the first. By the looks of it GOTG has a great cast, great characters a good story and good acting. The right amount of humor and the better amount of importance.

<p>@TomasDerksen - again it's based on nine minutes. Comments from people who see the whole movie will carry more weight, and I don't mean paid testimonials from Marvel. Instead of dismissing opinions of people who are not heaping praise on an untested complete Marvel product (sorry, "DC Fanboys" comes off as a cheap shot) accept the fact some people are put off by it just from the premise of it and no amount of name-calling is going to change their minds. I'm not going to change your opinion, and you won't be able to change mine.

<p>Like I said: on Screenrant it is the dc Fanboys. You reconize them. The people who hate on everything Marvel and love everything on DC. DC Fanboys.
</p><p>I haven't seen any other reactions so far, besides those on Screenrant (where only Dazzz, who is negatve about almost everything) only DC fanboys dislike it, but they dislike everything Marvel. And those on this website, where you are the first negative reaction I have read.
</p><p>I wont see the movie in the cinema. I will see it though and I will buy the disc (Like I did with all the MCU movies and all the first and second spiderman trilogy). I will see it because I want to know the entire universe, the entire plot, and missing a movie (as important as this one) wont help.

And your opinion is based on a three minute commercial. How do you know that there isn't great storytelling and acting in GotG until you have seen the whole thing. I can understand not wanting to risk seeing it in theaters but I think Marvel has earned the benefit of the doubt over the last six years to at least give it a chance when it hits DVD or Netflix.

<p>@Lowriders95a10 - point taken about three minute commercial based on my initial response, but I have read some reviews from the 17 minutes clip. I'm still not sold. The talking tree is going "I am Groot" for the most part, and the raccoon is the hightlight. Star-Lord, Gamora and Drax are looking like the supporting characters and not the leads (Quill and Gamora anyway). Marvel is relying on a CGI vermin to carry it over the box finsh line based on this marketing strategy.

<p>ofc the Talking tree is only saying I am groot. That is all he knows. That is all he knows in the comics (as far as I have heard).
</p><p>And the Raccoon is taking over the screen, because he is genius, but the Star-lord of the lead.
</p><p>I have read reviews over the 17 minutes clip, again, 100% positive. (Reactions on websites that is). They used CGI on all there movies, remember?

<p>@TomasDerksen and Turtletrekker - you're still not getting it. CGI is not the issue, the plot and how it fits in current storyline of the MCU. It's ridiculous to me, and Marvel is gambling on non-comic box fans to accept this. Apparently you guys feel an opinion that doesn't have the commentor drool over this movie is unacceptable. Only positive praise is allowed. I thought this was a forum where different opinions were permitted.

<p>The plot and how it fits in the current line of the MCU is what makes the movie so good.
</p><p>I am a non-comic box fan, I accept it, so is it really a gamble? THey focus not on the comic readers, but mostly on the MCU fans, most MCU fans know are non-comic book readers, they accept it.. THey know that people who follow the entire MCU so far are the once that come to see (and buy) this movie. and I get more not-MCU people will buy it, because of comedic and the team (Racoon and Tree).
</p><p>OFc you are allowed to have your own opinion. but so do we. I do not see an issue in this movie. Not the CGI, not the plot (which is so it seems perfect for the MCU) and how it fits (the correct way, making the universe bigger and introducing more worlds, stones, heroes).
