That's not Odin's staff, and no, I don't the staff you are refering to is an infinity gem either.

Quote: because in avengers it could be used to control people

Gungnir wasn't used in The Avengers, and the one you're thinking about isn't any type of infinity anything either.

If you remember the staff was given to Loki by Thanos, who has over the years possessed the stones on numerous occasions, and gave him “ancient knowledge”. In my opinion it could be either the soul gem, giving him the power to control people through their souls. It could also be the mind gem however because both Hawkeye and the professor, Eric, have described Loki’s control over them as him being in their “head”, AKA mind control. I am no expert but the end of Thor the Dark World sent me into a research frenzie and this is what I came up with. Please let me know what you think. Maybe we can figure this all out.

I think whoever is behind the general plot that the movies all conforming to is leaving more clues then we’re picking up on. Feel free to let me know what you think on this matter too.

I always felt like the staff was the Mind gem because like you said Clinton and Eric said he was in their head. Now Loki could do this without the staff through hypnosis but maybe not on a mass scale when dealing with strong minded individuals such as Clinton and Loki's leadership with the Chitauri. I feel like the Aether can be the Soul gem because it seems to affect the will power of it's host as well as being drawn towards it's life force. It is also a gem that can lead to death and maybe life on some level whereas it awakened the Dark Elves from hibernation. If so, then the cocoon in the Collector's museum could be Adam Warlock waiting to be awakened in a future Marvel film.

I've more or less had it confirmed by a few friends who are super into the whole marvel world. Also *spoiler* the obelisk from agents of sheild was about as close to confirmed to be the next one to be discovered in last nights episode.

Yes, the obelisk contains an infinity stone. It will probably be open in Inhumans(movie)...
